  • How much does it cost to have an assessment for my child?
    The current fee recommended by the Australian Psychological Society is $311 for a 46-60 minute consultation with a psychologist. The approximate estimated time for a psychological and educational assessment is as follows: Initial Consultation – 30-45 mins Intellectual Assessment – 90 mins Educational Assessment – 90 mins Report Preparation – 150-180 mins Subsequent Consultation – 45-60 mins Please contact us to discuss your child’s needs and a fee can be provided for the assessment required.
  • Does Medicare provide a rebate for the costs of psychological and educational assessments?
    Psychological and educational assessments are not covered by Medicare.
  • Can I claim a rebate from my private health insurer?
    Some private health insurers offer a rebate depending on your level of cover. You will need to contact your private health insurer to enquire whether you can claim for the assessment.
  • Does my child need a referral to see a psychologist for an assessment?
    Your child does not need a referral from your GP or any other professional to access our services.
  • How do I make a booking for an appointment?
    You can contact us directly by phone or email to make a booking. You can also submit an enquiry through our website.
  • Do you accept clients who have NDIS funding?
    We work with self-managed and plan managed clients only. Butterfly Psychology for Kids is not a registered NDIS provider and we work with children aged 6 to 16 years of age.
